Simurgh Project
Search for Simurgh is an immersive, multimedia installation and performance exploring migration, trauma, and transcendence in search of truths about freedom.
Initiated by Roya Movafegh and Kate Digby in 2013, after Movfegh’s passing the project was led by Kate Digby and Erika Batdorf from 2017-2019, and was developed in collaboration with designers and performers from a wide array of disciplines.
The project has been supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, Kansas State University, Biopac Systems, Inc. and generous individual donors.
